Help and FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Where is my renewal form?
Sign in and go to Account Home, then look under Tasks. You can also open Correspondence and select your renewal packet. The packet has a link to start the renewal.
What does "Is this correct?" mean on the renewal?
Each section shows what the county has on file for you. Read it. If it is right, choose Yes. Choose No only if you need to change something. If you choose No, you will be asked to enter the correct information.
What proof do I need to send?
Send proof only for things that changed or that the county asked for. Common proof: recent pay stubs, a letter from an employer, a bill showing your address, or a tax return. You do not need to send proof of things that did not change.
What if I moved?
Report your new address on your renewal, or call your county. Changing your address in Profile and Settings does not update your case. Keep mail forwarding active until your county confirms the new address.
What is the 80-hour rule?
Starting January 2027, some adults ages 19 to 64 must show 80 hours each month of work, job training, school, or community service to keep coverage. This is called the community engagement requirement. You will get a notice before it applies to you.
Who is exempt from the 80-hour rule?
Exemptions can include people who are pregnant, people who care for a child under 6 or a person with a disability, people with a medical condition that limits work, and full-time students. The list can change. Your county will tell you if you qualify. Ask your county if you are not sure.
What if I do not know my tax filing status?
Choose what you expect to do for this year. If you are not sure, choose the option that says you do not know and add a note. Your county may contact you. Do not guess about who claims whom as a dependent.
I did not get my verification code.
Wait two minutes, then ask for a new code. Check that the phone number or email shown is current. Codes can arrive late. Only the newest code works. If it still does not arrive, call your county.
How long do I have to respond to a renewal?
The due date is printed on your notice. If you miss it, coverage may end. You may still have a short time after the due date to send your renewal and keep coverage. Check your notice.
Does uploading a document submit my renewal?
No. Uploading a document only sends the document. You must finish and submit the renewal form itself.
Can someone else help me with my case?
Yes. You can name an authorized representative. Ask your county for the form. A helper can also sit with you at a county office or community organization.
Is a private plan on the Marketplace the same as my coverage?
No. Private plans on the Health Coverage Marketplace are plans you pay for. They do not renew your current coverage.
How do I get my application or notice in another language?
Call your county and ask for your preferred language. Free interpreters are available. You can ask for written notices in your language.
Apply for coverage
You can apply by phone, by mail, or in person at a county office. Online applications are not available in this demonstration. Ask for the application packet in your language.
Have ready: names and birth dates of people who need coverage, income for the last month, and immigration documents if you have them. You can apply even if some family members do not have documents.
Report a change
You must report changes within 10 days. Changes include a new address, a new job, a change in income, a person moving in or out, a birth, or new insurance.
You can report changes on your renewal if you are in the middle of renewing. Otherwise call your county.
Create an account
Account creation is closed in this demonstration. Accounts are pre-made. If you were given a user name and password, sign in.
Public charge
Using health coverage does not count against most immigrants in public charge decisions. There are limited exceptions, such as long-term institutional care paid by the government. Talk to a legal services provider or immigration attorney before you decide.
Your information is not used for immigration enforcement through this portal. Ask a legal services provider if you have questions.
Accessibility
This site is designed to work with screen readers and keyboard navigation. If you have trouble using any page, call the help line at 1-800-555-0199 and ask for help. You can ask for notices in large print, Braille, or audio.

Nondiscrimination notice
Programs must not treat anyone unfairly because of race, color, national origin, language, religion, sex, age, or disability. To file a complaint, call your county office. Free language help and aids for people with disabilities are available.
